Day 5: Daily Drawing

Day 5 woof. So it was really hard to get up today. Shifting my day around is really hard. But ill keep it up and make it work for me. Cause after all this isn't about the art right now it's about creating the drive to be an artist full time. Putting in the work regardless of how you feel when you show up at the canvas (peace of paper). 

And today I was all about the simple easy non detailed drawing. That is until I sat down and put pen to paper. Did I have time for an intricate drawing? No. Did I have any idea what this drawing was going to be before I started? So it was easier. No. Did I want to work hard to finish on time and make this post today? No. Well here we are. I did have to rush the bottom half a bit which I am a little regretful of. It could have been lighter and then I would not have felt obligated to go back and darken up the top half as much.

About 1/5 of the way through I had made a hand full of the "mast" like structures and was thinking what would a Beholder ghost ship look like (this is a beholder https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Beholder)

So after having that thought I sort of went with it. I do really enjoy drawing the mast shapes. Seeing what I can do with them and how they add the the overall feel. Depending on how they are modified changes the overall mood of the piece. This definitely felt darker the more I added hanging elements to them.
